昼出耘田夜绩麻，
Uprooting weeds by day and spin hemp thread by night
村落落儿女各当家。
All men and women in the village have their own jobs
童孙未解供耕织，
Kids don’t understand how to farm or weave
也傍桑阴学种瓜。
Yet they still learn to grow melons in the mulberry shade

Calling his son to till the fields at dawn
羸牛无力渐艰行。
The thin cow drags its hooves, moving slowly
时人不识田舍苦，
People nowadays fail to grasp peasants’ hardships
将谓田中谷自生。
Thinking the crops in the fields grow by themselves

①羸(léi）：瘦；弱。
②时人：当时的人，同时期的人。
③将谓：就以为。

绿遍山原白满川，
Green spreads over hills and plains and white fills rivers
子规声里雨如烟。
Cuckoos are chirping in the misty rain
村落庄四月闲人少，
There are few idlers in the rural April
才了蚕桑又插田。
When sericulture’s finished, rice transplanting begins

①子规：杜鹃
②才了蚕桑：了：结束；蚕桑：种桑养蚕。
③插田：插秧，移植水稻秧苗。

种豆南山下，
Growing beans under the south mountain
草盛豆苗希。
Weeds flourishing and bean seedlings sparse
晨兴理荒秽，
I rise early in the morning to remove weeds
戴月荷锄归。
And return home with the hoe in the moonlight
道狭草木长，
The path is narrow and covered with vegetation
夕露沾我衣。
The evening dew soaks my clothes
衣沾不敷惜，
It's not a pity that my clothes are wet
但使愿无违。
As long as my wish is not violated

1）归园田居：回归田园生活。
2）南山：指庐山。
3）兴：起床。
4）荒秽：这里指田里的杂草。
5）荷(hè)锄：扛着锄头。
6）草木长：草木丛生；长：成长。
7）夕露：傍晚的露水。
